Latest News 2022

We are happy to say, we are back up and running again.

Hello and a Happy New Year from all at NBVCS. My name is Bex (Rebekah MacRobert) and I will be taking over from the wonderful Coleen... big shoes to fill, I know!  We had hoped to get things up and running again early in 2022 but with all the social distancing rules, their will be some delay in starting.  However, I do plan to to call round and get to know everyone and update any new information you may have, in anticipation of us starting up again over the coming weeks or months. I look forward to getting to know many of you and hope to be in touch soon.

Some alternative travel services are available, albeit with their own specific restrictions.  Links to some of these can be found at:

2020 Mar 19th Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

We are reducing our current service to essential journeys only, such as Hospital and Health Centre, shopping and banking.  Additionally, for these visits, we are asking clients to sit in the rear seat of the car.
For clients who require shopping, we can arrange for a driver to pick up a list of items required, purchase the items, and deliver them back to the client.
All other types of journey are being suspended.
These prioritisations and restrictions are in place in order to reduce the risks to our clients and drivers, and also due to the number of our drivers who are unable to drive at the moment.
Thank you for your understanding.

2020 Mar - Donation from The Dirleton Lunch Hub

John Baird and Colleen Praill were invited to the Dirleton Lunch Hub on the 4th March 2020, to give a brief presentation about the work of the North Berwick Volunteer Car Scheme.  Everyone was very welcoming and friendly.  After a collection among the attendees, the Hub very generously donated £70 to our charity. This was very much appreciated by the NBVCS.

The Dirleton Lunch Hub meets on the first Wednesday of each month at Dirleton Kirk Hall, 12 noon to 2pm.
Everyone is welcome, whether young or old, resident or visitor. All food is home-made. The events are organised by Dirleton Good Neighbours, and Anne Orr.  Please visit their excellent website at:
