How The NBVCS Works
​We are a registered charity (SC 006385), established in 1989. We are based in North Berwick, and most of our drivers and clients reside here. However, we do have a number of drivers and clients from Dirleton and Gullane.

We arrange journeys for essential local services within and between North Berwick, Gullane and Dirleton, and their nearby villages. Medical appointments are always given priority. Additionally we can provide transport for residents of these towns to medical appointments within an area roughly bounded by Longniddry, Haddington and Dunbar. If you need to go further, for example to Edinburgh, then please consider the following alternative services.

We are funded solely by client and driver donations, local businesses, and an annual fundraising Coffee Morning in October. Donations vary according to distance to be travelled, and where the driver comes from. Once a journey has been arranged, we always inform the client of the name of their driver and a suggested donation. We are a charity, and therefore these are suggested donations, so clients give as much or as little as they can afford. Monies are placed in a brown envelope at the end of the journey, and this is then taken by the driver directly to our treasurer, James Meston.
